The arrival of J.D. Wetherspoon with a brand new development in the heart of Ilfracombe was much celebrated
Designed as a landmark building, the architecture adds a distinctive feature to the town, aiding its rejuvenation.
TCi (GB) Ltd won a tender with Sanderson Contractors to complete the internal works. This included high-specification walls, ceilings and joinery. The project was not without its challenges. The intricate and unique design of the building is based on a shell, reflecting Ilfracombe’s strong ties to the sea. This design meant that there were no straight lines to work from and in turn made it imperative that every finish was executed to the highest standard.
The importance of the building as a landmark to the town meant it was vital to complete on time. Working closely with the lead contractor with highly skilled trades and good onsite management, we were able to uphold this commitment.
